The President of the Lebanese University (LU), Professor Fouad Ayoub, received in his office in the Central Administration building, a delegation of representatives of a number of Russian universities, accompanied by Dr. Vadim Zaichikov, Director of the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Beirut and his deputy, Deniz Kneishyov.

The Russian delegation from Nizhny Novgorod Oblast consisted of Alexander Ushakov (Ministry of Education and Science), Olga Zorina (State Technical University), Alexander Mitrakov (State Medical University), Sergey Pyatkin (Lobachevsky State University), Igor Komarov (Lobachevsky University), and Ilya Misnikovy (Tomsk State University - Siberia).

In addition to President Ayoub, the meeting was attended by Professor Zeinab Saad, General Coordinator of International Relations Office, Dean Mohammad Al-Hajj (Faculty of Fine Arts & Architecture), Dean Nina Zaidan (Faculty of Public Health), Dean Ahmad Rabah (Faculty of Letters & Human Sciences), Dean Samir Medawar (Faculty of Agronomy), Dean Bassam Badran (Faculty of Science), and Dr. Pierre Matar, representing the University.

President Ayoub emphasized the strength of the relationship between the LU and Russian universities and the recent active cooperation through the agreements signed and the establishment of joint masters’ programs, namely in the field of human and agricultural sciences, and engineering, and the cooperation in various European projects, in particular, ERASMUS PLUS.

The parties presented various fields of cooperation, especially in the fields of medicine, engineering, technology, agricultural engineering, human sciences, letters and architectural engineering sciences.

Representatives of Russian universities proposed facilities that may be offered to visiting students at various educational levels, including scholarships, accommodation and travel facilities, and discussed with the deans the mechanisms for exchanging professors and researchers and organizing seminars.
