Aix-Marseille University awarded the President of the Lebanese University, Prof. Bassam Badran, an honorary doctorate (HONORIS CAUSA) in recognition of him as a distinguished researcher, in a ceremony attended by a group of Lebanese and French professors and academics.

Eric Berton, President of Aix-Marseille University, delivered a speech in which he noted that honoring President Badran with an honorary doctorate is a recognition of his career, which was characterized by scientific excellence, public service for higher education and scientific research, and the university's involvement in its community, and a recognition of his success in leading the Lebanese University and maintaining it and its continuity in the most difficult circumstances.

President Badran delivered a speech in which he expressed his gratitude to Aix-Marseille University and its president for the honor of awarding him an honorary doctorate, and dedicated the honor to the Lebanese University and the Lebanese people.
