LU graduate participates in the World Food Forum 2026

Dr. Ghenwa Ahmad Kataya, a graduate of the Lebanese University, participated in the World Food Forum – 2026, organized by the UN FAO at its headquarters in Rome, Italy.

As a representative of the NENA region, Dr. Kataya attended two panel discussions that addressed the role of youth in revitalizing agricultural and food systems and in strengthening their contribution to the development of regional policies and initiatives, transforming them into practical, actionable steps.

The sessions were attended by the Lebanese Consul in Rome, Mr. Moustafa Ghaith, who accompanied and supported Dr. Kataya—a move that reflects the importance of supporting young Lebanese talent and strengthening their presence in international forums.

It is noteworthy that Dr. Kataya is a graduate of the Faculty of Science, majoring in biochemistry, and a graduate of the Faculty of Agronomy, majoring in Environmental & Natural Resources Engineering, and holds a PhD in Earth & Environmental Sciences from the Doctoral School of Science & Technology at the Lebanese University, in collaboration with the University of Montpellier, France, which she completed in July 2025.
