SERMED CALL FOR LOGO DESIGN CONTEST
SERMED INTRODUCTION
The Mediterranean region is the most vulnerable area to the impact of global warming, energy poverty, cooling access and water scarcity. Immense new knowledge on sustainable energy systems is produced at Universities, which provides efficacious solutions for a transition to a low-carbon economy, based on clean and green energy systems.
Advancements in building materials, technologies, systems and processes are growing fast towards more human-centered designs. There is an increased production of new research at universities with local and global relevance. However, much of the research produced findings is not readily accessible to the students, the public and, mainly, the businesses and markets. This condition creates a barrier for the concrete application of discoveries to answer to environmental challenges, like use of natural resources, climate change, sustainability in the use of energy. There is a market need to up-grade skills of professionals in the field and for fast path to translate to practice new researches and technology for sustainable energy.
The main question is "How can the research locally make its way to the industry and benefit people?"
SERMED aims at promoting a new methodology to connect research, market and students and create networks and cooperation starting from the results of the research and aiming to meet the real needs of Mediterranean countries in terms of professionalization, modernization and innovation in a green deal prospective.
Consortium will work to make accessible the results of the research to all people interested in, designing a new, effective and more comprehensible language, using modern and user friendly systems of communication, involving the final users in the scientific process and in the experiments developed for the achievement of the described outcomes.
