The Lebanese University, represented by its President Bassam Badran, has signed a memorandum of understanding with ESRI Lebanon, represented by the company's director of operations, Ms. Gretta Kelzi Harb, in the presence of deans from several faculties of the university, coordinators of the master's degrees in computer science from the Faculty of Science, trade unionists and students.

The agreement aims to promote the use of ArcGIS technologies in the fields of education, training and scientific research, enabling students and professors to benefit from the latest tools in the field of Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

Under the agreement, ESRI will provide free educational licenses for one year, giving the university access to ArcGIS software for use in teaching and research.

ESRI will also organize training sessions for professors to enable them to master the digital tools and integrate them into the curriculum, as well as interactive workshops for students to introduce them to the various GIS applications and improve their practical skills in this field.
