Five students of the Lebanese University – Faculty of Science (Master’s degree in Petroleum & Environmental Geosciences) will participate in the Middle East semi-final of the “Imperial Barrel Award (IBA) Competition” to be held in Bahrain next March organized by the American Society of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG).

The students participating are Aya Charif, Rita Hachach, Falak Malaki, Moataz Al Riahi and Mohammed Al Mousawi. Supervised by Dr. Ramadan Ghalayini, the students will analyze geophysical data for an oil and gas field in the Carnarvon Basin, a geological basin located in northwest Australia. The results of their studies and analyzes will be presented at a later stage to determine the final result.
