The IEEE - Lebanon organized its annual contest for the graduation projects of Electrical Engineering students of all Lebanese universities on June 22, 2019 at the Rafic Hariri University Campus - Hadath Faculty of Engineering (Branch 3).
Fifty projects in four specializations: Telecommunications, Computer, Robotics, Control and Biotechnology, were part of this contest, and two projects from the Lebanese University - Faculty of Engineering (Branch 1) won first and second prizes in the Computer specialization.
The project winning the first prize is prepared by the student Daad Adhami supervised by Dr. Haitham Ziadeh and Dr. Salah Al-Falo, and executed in the Navybits Company. The project aims to develop a program to assist in browsing the web for images corresponding to a particular product, making online purchase easier. It replaces the standard browsing by machine-learning smart browsing.
The project winning the second prize is prepared by the student Tariq Ghamrawi supervised by Dr. Rola Naja. The project aims to assist smart vehicle drivers in deciding to change the driving line by gathering information from surrounding vehicles and using machine-learning technology to reduce traffic accidents on highways.
