Ibrahim Mohammed Al Zaim, student of the Lebanese University - Faculty of Pharmacy – 4th year) is representing Lebanon and the University in the Dalai Lama Fellowship Program 2019 (DLF), housed at the University of Virginia’s Contemplative Science Center (CSC University of Virginia).
Al Zaim is the first Middle Eastern participant and was selected with 24 young men and women from around the world after presenting a one-year project to develop a website linking young university graduates with a number of companies in order to gain the professional expertise required by the labor market.
The student's journey will start next month where he will travel to the United States to spend a week at the University of Virginia and present his project orally before returning to Beirut for follow-up. His project will be subject to final evaluation in June 2020 at the same university.
Al Zaim was awarded the first prize in the “Lebanese Student Entrepreneurship” project (DEEL) organized by the Francophone University Agency (AUF) in Beirut in 2018 on "Improving communication between doctors, pharmacists, insurance companies and patients in order to minimize medical errors".
He was also chosen last year, among the Lebanese University students to take part in the MEPI-Student Leaders Program organized by Georgetown University in the United States and hosted by Portland State University.
