On 4 March 2019, under the patronage and presence of the President of the Lebanese University, Professor Fouad Ayoub, and the Dean of the Faculty of Pedagogy, Dr. Therese El Hachem, the "University Educational Excellence Center for Capacity Development” at the Lebanese University (LU) was launched within “ETaleb” project and “Erasmus+” program funded by the European Union, in the Faculty Deanship in partnership with the LU - Faculties of Engineering and Pharmacy.

The ceremony was attended by the Director General of Higher Education in Lebanon Ahmed el-Jammal, Head of the Educational Center for Research and Development, Dr. Nada Oweijan, Director of the “Francophonie University Agency” (AUF), Dr. Herve Sabourin, Educational Cooperation Attaché at the French Institute, Dr. Rachida Douma, Head of the Cultural Department in the Ministry of Education & Higher Education, Mrs. Sonia Khoury, Vice President of Holy Spirit University of Kaslik for Academic Affairs and ETaleb Project Coordinator, Dr. Georges Yahchouchi, Dean of the LU - Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Rafik Younes, Director of the National Erasmus+ Office of Lebanon, Dr. Aref Alsoufi, Student Dean at Beirut Arab University, Dr. Subhi Abou Chahine, Vice President of the Saint Joseph University for Quality Accreditation, Dr. Nada Moghaizel Nasr, and the former Deans of the Faculty of Pedagogy, Dr. Asaad Skaff, Dr. Joseph Abou Nohra, Dr. Antoine Tohme, and a number of members of LU Council and the Faculty Council, and heads of academic departments, coordinators, professors and students.

During the ceremony, Dr. El Hachem indicated that ETaleb project aims to achieve excellence in Lebanese higher education institutions by developing the teaching and learning system and processes. She revealed that the project includes, in addition to the General Directorate of Higher Education, eight Lebanese universities and several European institutions and universities.
