The FFAA participates in the founding edition of ARABSCAPE | MENA Summer School 2026
The Faculty of Fine Arts & Architecture — Department of Landscape and Environmental Architecture (MAPE) participated in the Founding Edition of ARABSCAPE | MENA Summer School 2026, which was held in Tunisia between 22-29 September 2026.
The event, organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Hammamet, brought together students and academics from the FFAA at the Lebanese University, the German Jordanian University, the University of Dohuk, ISTEUB - University of Carthage, and Technische Universität Berlin (TU Berlin).
Discussions at the event focused on the relationship between water, coastal landscapes and public space. Students conducted field observations and a shared spatial diagnosis of a section of Hammamet’s waterfront, before translating their findings into a light ATHAR intervention.
This experience provided an important setting for international academic exchange, collaborative learning and cross-cultural teamwork, strengthening ARABSCAPE’s ambition to build a regional platform connecting universities around shared landscape and urban challenges.
The academic team consisted of Dr. Nina Zeidan (Lebanese University), Dr. Farah Al Atrash (German Jordanian University), Dr. Layla Mohamed Raswol (University of Duhok), Dr. Olfa Ben Medien (ISTEUB – University of Carthage), and Dr. Hassan El Moueilhi (TU Berlin).
