Seminar on the future of accounting profession at the FEBA - Branch 2
The Department of Accounting & Auditing at the Faculty of Economics & Business Administration – Branch 2 organized a seminar entitled "Redefining the Accounting Profession in the Digital Age: AI, Sustainability, and the Future of the Profession," in the presence of the Branch Director, Dr. Abir Tarabay, and under the supervision of the Head of Department of Accounting & Auditing, Dr. Mira Yamine.
Participants included Dr. Roger Loutfi, Member of IPAE & Secretary- General at LACPA, and Ms. Darine Dib, Audit Director at PwC and lecturer and trainer at the Lebanese University and LACPA.
The seminar addressed the transformations taking place in the accounting and auditing professions in light of digital development, the importance of critical thinking and professional ethics, as well as the career opportunities and international certifications that open up broad horizons for students in the job market.
At the end of the seminar, student Jimmy Eid was honored for obtaining the Certified Internal Auditor – CIA certification, and student Hadi Yasmine for receiving an honor in the DipIFR certification after achieving the highest scores in Lebanon. Students Gaelle Boustany, Rawan Al-Habr, and Stephen Mouawad were also honored for their participation in the National Accounting Contest 2026.
The seminar provided valuable and unique opportunity for students to benefit from the expertise and information shared, and to learn more about the future of the profession and its requirements in the digital age.
