The Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences brings together culture, knowledge, arts and humanities. It is the heart of our university, and from here we seek to provide a comprehensive education that enables our students to acquire knowledge and a deep understanding of the world around them.
The faculty aims to play a leading role and contribute to national development. It also seeks to create an academic environment that is directly or indirectly beneficial to Lebanese society, and in line with the needs of the job market.
Our mission is to achieve excellence in the fields of linguistics, literature, modern languages and translation, and our faculty is keen to prepare executives and elites specializing in the arts, humanities and linguistics at both academic and professional levels, in order to be the first on the job market. That's why we give priority to scientific research and literary and linguistic innovation, by setting up high-quality academic programs in line with national and international standards.
Our interest is in how to transform the faculty into a productive unit, which also includes an elite of professors distinguished in their fields.
We are proud that our faculty encompasses a wide range of specializations in the humanities and social sciences, including languages (Arabic, French and English), history, geography, philosophy, psychology, arts and archaeology, Turkish literature, Persian literature, Russian literature, language engineering, translation and arabization, interpreting, translation and intercultural economic relations (Spanish, Italian and Chinese), teaching Arabic as a foreign language and computational linguistics.

We also strive to offer comprehensive and advanced academic programs that include theoretical courses as well as practical and research work.
